Valuation, depreciation and planning data
Where the financial figures come from, and how they support AMP, SAMP and LTFP.
45 min
The figures
- Replacement value — what it would cost to replace now
- Expected life — the useful life assumed for the asset class
- Remaining useful life — expected life less age, where age comes from the install, commission or acquisition date
- Annual depreciation — replacement value divided by expected life, unless a method is stated
- Written-down value — replacement value scaled by the proportion of life remaining
Where the source register already supplies a figure, that value is kept and marked as supplied; Spatial7 calculates only what the data supports, and marks calculated values as calculated.
Planning documents
AMP, SAMP and LTFP are only as good as the asset data underneath them. Because planning reads live register data, a forecast can be regenerated when the data changes instead of being retyped into a spreadsheet.
