The inspection record

An inspection is raised against a specific asset with a type, a scheduled date and an inspector. It moves through scheduled → in progress → awaiting approval → completed.

On site

1. Open the inspection from your list — filter to your own work and the current date.
2. Confirm the asset. Read the asset code from the tag, plate or drawing rather than guessing.
3. Record what you observe: condition rating, findings and any defects.
4. Capture the field position so the record shows where the assessment was actually made.
5. Save. The inspection is now part of the asset's history and its condition figure updates the portfolio view.

Write it so it survives

"Failed" is not a finding. "Stormwater grate broken, two bars missing, trip hazard on the footpath" is. Someone will act on your words months from now.
